In this topic we would explore common techniques in preparing short and medium term budgets and business plans. We would also discuss common problems in the budget setting process

Participants, working in groups, would be given an opportunity to prepare a budget

Next we would look at how variances are calculated and then how to investigate the issues and take corrective action.

As a case study participants would explore a number of variances based on the budgets prepared earlier
